Authorized Representative

Last updated: July 2026

What an authorized representative is

Under section 91 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA), only certain people may provide Canadian immigration advice or representation for a fee: licensed Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCICs), members of a Canadian law society (lawyers and paralegals where authorized), and Quebec notaries. Anyone else charging fees for immigration representation is acting illegally.

Our representative

Anil Katta, RCIC — RCIC #R531377 — is a licensed Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant and a member in good standing of the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC), the federal regulator of immigration consultants.

The Use of Representative form (IMM 5476)

When you retain us, we file the IMM 5476 Use of Representative form with your application. This tells IRCC we act for you, makes our involvement transparent, and allows us to communicate with the department on your file. A representative who refuses to appear on your application — a 'ghost consultant' — is a serious warning sign.

College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC)

Anil Katta, RCIC is a member in good standing of the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC / CCIC), the federal regulator of immigration consultants in Canada.

Warning: unauthorized “ghost consultants”

Unlicensed agents who prepare applications while hiding their involvement leave you responsible for their errors — including misrepresentation findings that carry five-year bans. Before hiring anyone (including us), verify their licence on the official register.
