Express Entry CRS Calculator: November 2026 Changes

Enter your current CRS score to estimate how eligible Canadian work experience or a qualifying high-wage job offer may affect your total.

Upcoming rules from November 3, 2026

This is a score-change calculator, not a full CRS assessment. Do not apply it to an IRCC score already recalculated under the new rules.

Preparing the private calculator…

1. Starting score

Use the without-spouse scale if single, your spouse is non-accompanying, or your spouse is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

2. Canadian high-wage experience

Add only work within the last 10 years that matches your baseline. Leave empty if none. A salary is not needed: the occupation NOC determines the tier.

Exclude full-time student work, unpaid work and self-employment unless a verified physician public policy applies. Foreign work is excluded. This CRS ten-year window is distinct from the CEC program's three-year eligibility window.

3. Qualifying Canadian job offer

A work permit by itself is not a qualifying job offer. A PGWP or other open permit does not automatically disqualify an offer; a closed permit or LMIA does not automatically qualify it. From November 3, 2026 an LMIA is not required for Express Entry offer points. This change does not authorize employment.

Official sources and occupation snapshot

Rules verified October 17, 2026 · effective November 3, 2026. IRCC occupation list dated October 16, 2026: 186 NOCs (31 at 2×, 89 at 1.5×, 66 at 1.3×), based on 2023–2025 data. If IRCC changes the list after an ITA, the tier at invitation remains applicable. This tool uses this one snapshot; other ITA-date lists need review.

The dated November change notice takes precedence over older LMIA wording still present on the job-offer page. We do not assess work authorization or exceptions automatically. The pre-change 1,200-point maximum is confirmed by section 8(2) of the current Ministerial Instructions. The November announcement confirms factor maxima, but does not explicitly state a replacement overall ceiling. This tool supports totals up to 1,200 and withholds higher comparisons for professional review rather than inventing a November limit or silently capping a score.

This tool provides an estimate based on the information entered and the stated rules. It does not determine program eligibility or guarantee an invitation or approval. NOC classification, work experience and job-offer validity require supporting evidence.
